The KIPP Houston Kerberos fought the good fight in their overtime match against the KIPP Northeast Navigators on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Navigators 26-20. KIPP Houston was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as KIPP Northeast apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Several Kerberos players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendall Blaylock, who threw for 115 yards and a touchdown. Josiah Obasa was in the mix as well, providing KIPP Houston with two touchdowns.
KIPP Houston's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.7 points per game. As for KIPP Northeast, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.
KIPP Houston will take on KIPP Generations Collegiate at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. KIPP Generations Collegiate comes in still looking for their first win of the season. KIPP Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
