The Keystone Wildcats put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Firelands 50-34. Given Keystone's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Firelands is ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Vivian Cassell, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for her. Jessica Forthofer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Keystone's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Firelands, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Keystone will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wellington at 7:00 p.m. As for Firelands, they will head out on the road to face off against Elyria at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Elyria is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
