Basketball Recap: Queen's Grant Piles Up the Points Against Jackson Day

Queen's Grant won against Valor Preparatory Academy last Tuesday with 88 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Queen's Grant Stallions took their game with ease, bagging an 88-61 win over the Jackson Day Mariners. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Queen's Grant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ian Howard, who went 10 for 14 en route to 26 points and seven boards. Those 26 points gave Howard a new career-high. Cannon DeBerry was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Queen's Grant has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points per game. As for Jackson Day, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Queen's Grant will head out to challenge Sugar Creek Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Queen's Grant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.7 points per game this season. As for Jackson Day, they will venture away from home to face off against Charlotte Lab School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson Day is facing Charlotte Lab School at the right time seeing as Charlotte Lab School is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
