The Almond-Bancroft Eagles will take on the Markesan Hornets at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
On Tuesday, Almond-Bancroft didn't have quite enough to beat Pittsville and fell 3-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Markesan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Cambria-Friesland on Tuesday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Markesan wouldn't go down easily and took Cambria-Friesland into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 16-25, 15-8.
Almond-Bancroft better keep an eye on Lettie Heiling. She was instrumental in Markesan's win, getting nine digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Heiling a new career-high. Greylyn Plath also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Markesan's record now sits at 6-16. As for Almond-Bancroft, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-14.
