Despite the loss, Nikiski saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Blakeley Jorgensen dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Jorgensen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Homer can attribute much of their success to Keagan Niebuhr, who posted four points along with seven boards, five steals, and five blocks. With that strong performance, Niebuhr is now averaging an impressive 3 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Stella Condon, who earned a point in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.
Nikiski's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Homer, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-10 record.
