The Bluefield Beavers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between Bluefield and Huntington wasn't particularly close, with Bluefield falling 74-56. Bluefield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Huntington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tayveon Wilson out in front who scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Mikey Johnson, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Bluefield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Huntington, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Bluefield will head out on the road to face off against Graham at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Huntington won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Princeton on January 6th.
