Leading Ben Lomond to victory were Jazzy Tinajero and Ofa Arreguin. Tinajero scored six points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Arreguin scored eight points along with 11 rebounds. Arreguin is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Dory Jenson was another key contributor, scoring three points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Gunnison Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Autumn Anderson, who scored two points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Linsi Hansen, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
The win got Ben Lomond back to even at 5-5. As for Gunnison Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Ben Lomond will finish 2023 at home by hosting St. Joseph at 5:15 p.m. on December 28th. St. Joseph is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Gunnison Valley will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Millard at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Millard is ranked 101st, while Gunnison Valley is ranked 97th).
