Hooper Academy has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Sparta Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hooper Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Edgewood Academy 46-25.
Even though Sparta Academy has not done well against Monroe Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Sparta Academy came out on top against Monroe Academy by a score of 42-31. The win was just what Sparta Academy needed coming off of a 83-31 defeat in their prior matchup.
Logan Robinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least 25% of Sparta Academy's points. Murfee Williams was another key contributor, scoring five points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Hooper Academy's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Sparta Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Hooper Academy lost to Sparta Academy at home by a decisive 58-44 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Thankfully for Hooper Academy, Bryson Pate (who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
