If the North Mesquite Stallions were feeling good off their 64-18 takedown of the Spruce Timberwolves last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Mesquite lost to Poteet on the road by a decisive 64-46 margin on Friday. North Mesquite was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Poteet apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Grigsby, who scored 21 points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Barnett, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
North Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Poteet, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9.
North Mesquite will take on Seagoville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seagoville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something North Mesquite surely won't give up without a fight. As for Poteet, they will head out on the road to square off against West Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poteet has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
