Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Turlock

Turlock waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Downey Knights as they made off with an 18-2 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Turlock got a massive performance out of Abby Maxwell, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Maxwell has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Rylie Bankson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Turlock's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Downey, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Turlock is set to take on their familiar foe Enochs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Downey will face off against rival Modesto at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
