The Monte Vista Mustangs will take on the California Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Monte Vista is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 11-8 victory over Dublin on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly three runs.
Samantha Kaiman made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Monte Vista kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Gabriella Nudo tossed a big game, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Hailey King was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.
California pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Monte Vista, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Monte Vista hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like California struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Monte Vista suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to California in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
