Charlotte Christian faced Charlotte Latin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Hawks. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Grant Nicholson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Farrell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Witt McCammon, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Charlotte Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Charlotte Latin, they moved to 16-3 with that defeat, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.
