After both having extra time off, the Highland Prep Honey Badgers and the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Arizona Lutheran Academy will be up against a hot Highland Prep squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Highland Prep's way against Leading Edge Academy - GEC two weeks ago as Highland Prep made off with an 18-10 win. The Honey Badgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven runs or more this season.

Sydney Mikkelson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haley Miller, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Aneyka Angulo, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Highland Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .757. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Arizona Lutheran Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Glendale Prep Academy with a sharp 12-4 victory last Tuesday. With that win, the Coyotes brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Like Highland Prep, Arizona Lutheran Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Jenna Danzeisen. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave Danzeisen a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Kaylee Pufahl was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Ella Peltzer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.
Highland Prep's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
