The Luverne Tigers entered their tilt with the McKenzie Tigers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Luverne managed a 51-47 victory over McKenzie on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Luverne also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylen Mcmillian, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Mcmillian scored a full 36.2% of McKenzie's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Mcmillian, who scored 11 points.
Luverne's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for McKenzie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
Luverne will take on Shields in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at. McKenzie will be home for the holidays to greet Straughn at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
