It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Duchesne Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged San Juan out 69-66. The victory was just what Duchesne needed coming off of a 76-55 defeat in their prior game.
When it comes to explaining why San Juan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Done. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with six assists and five steals. Done hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tripp Palmer, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Duchesne's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for San Juan, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Duchesne will be playing in front of their home fans against Gunnison Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Gunnison Valley is ranked 106th, while Duchesne is ranked 87th). As for San Juan, they will head out on the road to challenge Grand County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
