The Falcon Falcons had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They secured a 39-34 W over Mesa Ridge. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 15 to 6 on the offensive boards, as Falcon did.
Falcon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabella Howard out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Howard is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kinley Black, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Mesa Ridge still got an impressive performance from Bray Pelt, who scored 11 points.
Falcon is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Mesa Ridge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Falcon and the Titans will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The Classical Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Mesa Ridge, they will take on the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Harrison comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
