Roosevelt has gone a perfect 6-0 against Friona recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chieftans at 7:00 p.m. Roosevelt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Roosevelt will bounce into Monday's game after beating Muleshoe, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over the Mules on Friday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Mules on their field since March 30, 2018.

Caleb Daniel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Roosevelt is 6-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise. Daniel was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
In other batting news, Ryan Bradshaw was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Roosevelt: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-8-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Michael Pena, who earned two runs and four stolen bases.
Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. They are 10-2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Friona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 16-5 to Dimmitt.
Friona saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Ramos, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. Jameson Daniels was another, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9-1 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch. As for Friona, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Friona's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Roosevelt has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Friona, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Roosevelt's sizable advantage in that area, the Chieftans will need to find a way to close that gap.
Roosevelt got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Friona by a conclusive 20-11 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chieftans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
