The Northeastern Jets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Madison Plains, falling 57-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northeastern in their matchups with Madison Plains: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Jets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaelynn Bobst, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Tyler Pollock, who scored three points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Claire Mason had an outrageously good game for Madison Plains as she dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mason has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Reeves, who scored 14 points.
Northeastern bumped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.1 points per game. As for Madison Plains, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.
Coincidentally, Northeastern and Madison Plains will both be playing West Jefferson the next time they take the court. Madison Plains will head out to face West Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Northeastern will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
