After soaring to 34 points the game before, The Sierra Timberwolves were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were beaten by Central Catholic 63-7. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sierra in their matchups with Central Catholic: they've now lost eight in a row.
Central Catholic had a senior duo take command as Tyler Wentworth threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes and Brooklyn Cheek picked up 181 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Cheek's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Gavin Peral was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Sierra's loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-3 Manteca and 7-3 Oakdale (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.1% over those games). As for Central Catholic, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Sierra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central Catholic also has no future games currently scheduled.
