The Northside - Pinetown Panthers stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Southside 68-43. The win was a breath of fresh air for Northside - Pinetown as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading Northside - Pinetown to victory were Malachi Moore and Tate Gibbs. Moore scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals, while Gibbs scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gibbs has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zi'mier Alexander, who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Southside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joshua Armstrong. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with three steals.
Northside - Pinetown's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-5. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside - Pinetown will take on Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southside, they will play host again and welcome North East Carolina Prep, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (North East Carolina Prep is ranked 594th, while Southside is ranked 611th).
