Notus has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on Vision at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Notus didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Mustangs, but they still walked away with a 70-64 victory.
Notus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luis Vargas, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Vargas posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Grayson Benitez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Vision scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Centennial Baptist 65-37 at home. Vision has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season.
Vision got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Ingram out in front who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Ingram hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Isaac Bay was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Notus' victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Vision, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Notus have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Vision struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Notus against the in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-37 victory. Does Notus have another victory up their sleeve, or will the turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
