Basketball Recap: Delta's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Delta had won three straight games and Jillian Barr did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Eagles came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-50 W against the New Castle Trojans thanks in part to Barr, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, New Castle saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carlee Lanzer went 7-for-15 en route to 21 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Alana Orr, who posted six points.

Delta's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for New Castle, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Delta will take on Wapahani at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Castle, they will challenge Muncie Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
