Ernie Powers Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Ernie Powers produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Franklin to the win on Thursday. Powers rushed for 408 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.1 rushing touchdowns per game. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
On the year, Powers has averaged 11.1 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after ten games last season, he was only averaging 0.4 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 212.5 rushing yards.

Steven Galindo's big game helped extend Eastlake's winning streak to six on Thursday. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (102.8) per game. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 59 yards.

Zereian Quarles's rushing tear continued on Thursday as he dropped his ninth-straight game with 127+ rushing yards. He rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.
Quarles must have Franklin's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Quarles saw the Cougars), he rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Derek Lerma Delivers Best Effort of Season
Socorro came up short on Friday despite Derek Lerma delivering his best game to date. Lerma forced a fumble and made 23 total tackles.

Eastlake Wins Sixth-Straight Thanks to Luke Lomeli
Eastlake picked up their sixth consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Luke Lomeli. Lomeli did his part (and then some), throwing for 335 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.3% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground for the 'W'.
If history really does repeat itself, Lomeli might just drop another big game when he faces off against Permian on Friday. Back in September (the last time Lomeli saw the Panthers), he threw for 423 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
