The Kalama Chinooks will play host again and welcome the Pe Ell/Willapa Valley , where Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Even though Adna scored an imposing 34 points on Thursday, Kalama still came out on top. Everything went Kalama's way against Adna as Kalama made off with a 57-34 win. Given Kalama's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Adna is ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Pe Ell/Willapa Valley took their match at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 42-12 victory over Rainier. The victory was just what Pe Ell/Willapa Valley needed coming off of a 58-15 loss in their prior contest.
Pe Ell/Willapa Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Fluke out in front who threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Strozyk, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Kalama's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points per game. As for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Kalama against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley in their previous meeting back in November of 2017 as the team secured a 50-15 victory. Does Kalama have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pe Ell/Willapa Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
