Lake Buena Vista is 0-4 against Freedom since March of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Vipers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Lake Buena Vista is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Oak Ridge on Thursday as they made off with a 16-3 victory. The Vipers have beaten the Pioneers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pioneers has come to flipping the script.
Jason Perez and Aldahir Barroso made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Perez tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Barroso didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. Perez is becoming a predictor of Lake Buena Vista's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 4-2 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). At the plate, Perez scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Barroso scored two runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs Perez has posted since back in February.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brice Cox, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Freedom waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-2 win. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.
Marcus Alf looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Juan Pablo Gatica, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jay Martinez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Freedom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.2.
Lake Buena Vista's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
Lake Buena Vista couldn't quite finish off Freedom in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Will the Vipers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
