There's no place like home for the Notasulga Blue Devils, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They strolled past Loachapoka with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 66-50. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Notasulga has managed all season.
When it comes to explaining why Loachapoka lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zay Shaw. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Shaw scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tyner, who scored six points.
Loachapoka struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Notasulga's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Loachapoka, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Notasulga will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Alabama Christian Academy at 7:15 p.m. on December 29th. Loachapoka will be home for the holidays to greet Auburn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Auburn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
