The Fontana Steelers won against the Workman Lobos last Saturday with 73 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Fontana took down Workman 73-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Workman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aaron Hernandez. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with 7 steals. The matchup was Hernandez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Sammy Contreras was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
The victory was the third in a row for Fontana, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Workman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Fontana will be staying on the road on December 7th to face off against Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Eisenhower will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1002nd, while Fontana is ranked 376th). As for Workman, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bell at 4:00 p.m.
