After having lost a blowout in their previous game against El Modena, The El Dorado Golden Hawks were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Esperanza 31-7. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for El Dorado's ten-point performance the matchup before.
Leading El Dorado to victory were Isaiah Quintero and Nate Bento. Quintero rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns, while Bento rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
When it comes to explaining why Esperanza lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aaron Forsgren. Despite the final result, he rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown.
El Dorado is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Esperanza, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
El Dorado will head out on the road to face off against Laguna Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laguna Beach is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Esperanza, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Poly at 7:00 p.m. on November 2nd. Poly will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
