After flying high against Thornton  last Thursday, Greeley West came back down to earth. The Greeley West Spartans wound up on the wrong side of a  tough 10-1 walloping at the hands of the Silver Creek Raptors on Monday. Greeley West has not had much luck with Silver Creek recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
 Greeley West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  David Lovato, who  went 1-for-2 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 On Silver Creek's side,  Nolan Gaccetta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on three hits. Gaccetta has been consistent recently: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Silver Creek got a  massive  performance out of  Nate Spiegel, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of  Matthew Acosta, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 Greeley West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Silver Creek, the  win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greeley West will  challenge Pueblo County at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Silver Creek, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Centaurus at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
