The Central Cambria Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Forest Hills Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
While Red Devils fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They never let Bishop Carroll get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won seven in a row.
Rowyn Ruddek was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Aubrey Ruddek looked comfortable as she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Katie George, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Matlin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Forest Hills put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Bedford.
Taylor Snyder was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Morgan Gdula was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Forest Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bedford only posted an OBP of .222.
Central Cambria might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Forest Hills when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Central Cambria avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
