Baseball Game Preview: Pahranagat Valley Panthers vs. White Pine Bobcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Pahranagat Valley Panthers challenge White Pine Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Pahranagat Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lincoln County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Pahranagat Valley was the clear victors by a 24-12 margin over Lincoln County on Saturday. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Colin Howard and Todd Hansen did most of the damage at the plate: Howard went a perfect 5-for-5 with seven RBI, three runs, and three doubles, while Hansen scored five runs and stole Four bases. while going 4-for-5. Those seven RBI gave Howard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Flint Higbee, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Pahranagat Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, White Pine posted their closest victory since March 22, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out North Valley Christian Academy 9-7.

Jacob Hall made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Cessford, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. Maddox Sedlacek was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

White Pine now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pahranagat Valley, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
