Bryson Crawford was his usual excellent self, rushing for 217 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Crawford is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Wallace, who rushed for 77 yards and a pair of scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fox Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Fox Creek's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: John Truesdell, Noah Gaines, and Gabriel Reyes, who each picked up one sack apiece. Fox Creek got some further help from Truesdell: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made five total tackles.
Meanwhile, Orangeburg-Wilkinson made easy work of Keenan last Friday and carried off a 35-14 win.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's win came from a few key players Fox Creek will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brenden Peoples, who threw for 294 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Orangeburg-Wilkinson's leading receiver Daylin Haltiwanger was Peoples' top target yet again, picking up 107 receiving yards and one TD.
Fox Creek's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Fox Creek has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 291.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Orangeburg-Wilkinson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 158.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
