Softball Recap: Pickerington Central Finds Home Field Redemption Against Wooster

There's no place like home for Pickerington Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They put the hurt on the Wooster Generals with a sharp 16-6 win on Tuesday. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.

Samara Williams looked comfortable as she pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Pickerington Central got a massive performance out of Tisha Thompson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Thompson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Kounouzvelis, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Pickerington Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wooster only posted an OBP of .370.

Pickerington Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wooster, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Pickerington Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-5 win against Buckeye Valley on the 28th. As for Wooster, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-1 defeat against Hilliard Darby on the 26th.
