Baseball Recap: Keys Gate's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Keys Gate had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the South Miami Cobras 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since February 18th.

Jaime Osorio looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Keys Gate is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lazaro Puig, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Keys Gate's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for South Miami, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Looking ahead, Keys Gate will face off against Hialeah-Miami Lakes at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keys Gate's pitchers better be ready for this one: Hialeah-Miami Lakes has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for South Miami, they will head out on the road to square off against Immaculata-La Salle at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Immaculata-La Salle will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
