The Skyline Grizzlies waltzed into Thursday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They really took it to Bonneville for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-42 victory at home. Given Skyline's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Bonneville is ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shay Shippen had a dynamite game for Skyline, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Shippen has scored at least 25% of Skyline's points. The team also got some help courtesy of mady boyce, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bonneville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Idaho Falls the next time they take the court. Bonneville will head out to face Idaho Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Skyline will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
