 In other batting news,  Melanie Ostrander and  Khloe Hartman did some serious damage despite the final result:  Ostrander  scored a  run while going 2-for-4, while  Hartman  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Savanna Alloway, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Platteview  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponca struck out 12 times.
 Platteview's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Ponca, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.
 Platteview will venture away from home to  challenge Beatrice  on Monday. Platteview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4  runs per game  this season. As for Ponca, they will welcome Tekamah-Herman  on Tuesday.
