The Trinity Lutheran Cougars waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 71-54 victory over Shawe Memorial. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Trinity Lutheran also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Trinity Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Lang, who scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. Lang is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kowan Gross, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Trinity Lutheran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Shawe Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Lutheran will take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shawe Memorial, they will head out on the road to challenge the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus Christian is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
