After eight games on the road, Symmes Valley is heading back home. The Symmes Valley Vikings and the Green Bobcats will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Symmes Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
Symmes Valley was handed a 41-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on Saturday. Symmes Valley skirted past Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington 53-50. The victory was just what Symmes Valley needed coming off of a 65-24 loss in their prior game.
Jacob Cade and Ethan Smith were among the main playmakers for Symmes Valley as the former scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Symmes Valley's points. Aydan Taylor was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Green pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-61 bruising from New Hope Christian Academy. Green has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Symmes Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Green, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-6 record last season and are now at 2-10.
