Monrovia hit Speedway with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sparkplugs came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-2.
Speedway saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Fitch, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Beech Grove lost 11-3 to Tri-West Hendricks on Thursday.
Addison Corn made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Another was Harper Moore, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Beech Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Speedway, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
Beech Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Speedway has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Beech Grove, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 strikeouts. Will Speedway keep running through batters, or will the Hornets buck the trend?
