After flying high against the Cardinal Comets last Friday, the Knoxville Panthers came back down to earth. Knoxville fell 68-58 to Clarke on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Knoxville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Clarke is ranked sixth).
It was another big night for Jack Cooley, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds for Clarke. The match was Cooley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brock Watson, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
Knoxville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Clarke, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Knoxville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Davis County at 7:30 p.m. As for Clarke, they will head out on the road to face off against Albia at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
