Madison Plains had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 5-10 to make it four. They lost 11-1 to the Southeastern Local Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Monday.
Kenzie Vallery was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
As for Southeastern Local, the victory was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
On Southeastern Local's side, Reese R Wells made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. R Wells has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabby McNier, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Kaylee K Wells was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Madison Plains will head out on the road to take on Mechanicsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southeastern Local, they will square off against Fairbanks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
