Basketball Game Preview: Spanaway Lake Sentinels vs. Emerald Ridge Jaguars

The Spanaway Lake Sentinels will head out on the road to take on the Emerald Ridge Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Spanaway Lake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Spanaway Lake took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They strolled past Bethel with points to spare, taking the game 64-46.

Spanaway Lake got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darius Alexander out in front who posted 17 points along with eight assists and five boards. Alexander's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Demond Louis, who had ten points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Emerald Ridge hadn't done well against Sumner recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Emerald Ridge snuck past Sumner with a 62-56 win. The Jaguars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Emerald Ridge now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Spanaway Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Spanaway Lake strolled past Emerald Ridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2016 by a score of 66-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spanaway Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
