Greenwood is 0-10 against Greenville since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Greenwood's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danielle Oliver, who scored 14 points along with seven steals, and Ty Johnson who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Oliver is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played.
Meanwhile, Greenville came up short against Pickens on Tuesday and fell 47-40. While losing is never fun, Greenville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Pickens is ranked 11th).
Greenwood's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-2. As for Greenville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Greenwood couldn't quite finish off Greenville when the teams last played back in January of 2023 and fell 46-43. Can Greenwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
