The Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves will head out on the road to challenge the Woodlan Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
While Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out Fort Wayne Bishop Luers 3-2. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Braves have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Luke Metzler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jacob Jackson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodlan). They walked away with an 8-4 victory over Fort Wayne South Side on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Will Delagrange and Ben Delagrange dominated on the mound. Will tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits, while Ben tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Woodlan is undefeated when Ben allows one or fewer hits, but 0-2-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Fleek, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Max Gillenwater, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Woodlan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne South Side only posted a batting average of .240.
Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's record now sits at 5-1. As for Woodlan, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.
Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian skirted past Woodlan 7-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
