Eastwood and Eastlake are an even 3-3 against one another  since October of 2018, but  not for long. The Troopers will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the Falcons  at 7:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Eastlake will  face off against  a team with plenty of momentum: Eastwood extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Troopers breezed past Socorro to the tune of  49-13. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for the Troopers this season.
Eastwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Kingston Jeffries, who threw for 216 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards.  Michael Torres was  Jeffries' top target, picking up 131 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eastwood was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 212  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 212  rushing yards in four consecutive  matchups.
 Eastwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Matthew Yarbrough and  Noah Williams. Another thorn in Socorro's side was  Zacary Adams, who made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Eastlake didn't have too much trouble with Montwood  on Friday as they won  61-47.
 The match pitted two dominant  signal callers against one another in  Julian Williams and  Damian Briano. Williams had a great game and threw for 296 yards and four  touchdowns while completing 86.4% of his passes. Meanwhile,  Briano was balling out in the loss, throwing for 478 yards and four  TDs, while also rushing for 78 yards and a pair of  scores.
 Eastwood's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Eastlake, they now  have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's  contest will pit two  of the most dominant  signal callers against one another:  Jeffries and  Williams. Jeffries just won't slow down this season and  has thrown 10 touchdowns while averaging 162 passing yards per game. Williams has been a dominant force too and  has thrown 13 touchdowns while averaging 238 passing yards per game.
 Eastwood suffered a grim  49-28 defeat to Eastlake  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Troopers,  Steven Galindo (who rushed for 241 yards and four  scores while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 30 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
