Softball Recap: Alexander Beats Chapel Hill for Their Seventh Straight Win

Alexander waltzed into their match on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Chapel Hill Panthers 13-3. Considering the Cougars have won 12 contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kenzie Townsend was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Madison Smith, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Alexander always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chapel Hill only posted an OBP of .348.

Alexander's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Chapel Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexander will square off against East Paulding at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chapel Hill, they will face off against Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
