Mohonasen has gone a perfect 3-0 against Troy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Flying Horses at 4:30 p.m. Mohonasen is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Mohonasen took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Cohoes, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Warriors have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Nic Quinlivan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Ty Cunningham was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was his first of the season. Daniel Corsoro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Troy's offense. They fell just short of Lansingburgh by a score of 2-0 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Flying Horses have suffered since May 16, 2024.
Troy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Armstrong, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Mohonasen's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Troy, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-4.
Troy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mohonasen has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for Troy, though, as they've only averaged .310. Will they be able to contain Mohonasen's hitters?
Mohonasen skirted past Troy 8-7 in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Flying Horses turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
