The Grand Prairie Gophers will head out on the road to challenge the Haltom Buffalos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Prairie's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Grand Prairie's offense. They were the victim of a tough 4-0 loss at the hands of Martin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Grand Prairie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Martin is ranked 97th).
Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Haltom were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They suffered a rough 9-1 loss at the hands of South Grand Prairie. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Haltom was already down 5-0.
Their goal came courtesy of
Gabby Castillo, who's now up to two this season.
Grand Prairie now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Haltom, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Grand Prairie was able to grind out a solid win over Haltom in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, winning 2-0. Does Grand Prairie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Haltom turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
