Castle View is 0-9 against the Grizzlies since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Castle View Sabercats have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the ThunderRidge Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Castle View narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Falcons 59-56.
Vitorio Dante continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Evan Mckean, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, ThunderRidge beat the Mustangs 67-62 on Tuesday. Given ThunderRidge's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Mustangs are ranked 32nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
ThunderRidge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charlie Spann, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Andrew Crawford was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Castle View's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for ThunderRidge, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Castle View took a serious blow against the Grizzlies in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 82-40. Will Castle View have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
