The Rio Linda Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Casa Roble Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rio Linda will have to bring their A-game into this one, as there's a pretty big gap in their state rankings (Rio Linda is ranked 688th, while Casa Roble is ranked 117th).
Friday was a slow day for Rio Linda's offense, as the team failed to make it on the board. They took a 35-0 bruising from Dixon. That means Rio Linda has now suffered back-to-back defeats.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Casa Roble over Mesa Verde in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Casa Roble blew Mesa Verde out of the water with a 57-6 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-0.
Elijah Huddle and Connor Campbell were among the main playmakers for Casa Roble as the former picked up 122 receiving yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 259 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt. That's the first time this season that Huddle hauled in two or more receiving touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Richie Graham, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Casa Roble's victory bumped their season record to 5-1 while Rio Linda's defeat dropped theirs to 3-3.
Rio Linda was dealt a punishing 47-0 loss at the hands of Casa Roble in their previous meeting last October. Will Rio Linda have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the matchup or check back on CBS Sports to find out.
